2020 Mid-Season Streamathon

Riot previously revealed the cancellation of the 2020 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), after initially rescheduling the tournament from May to July. This marathon livestream won’t be a substitute for the annual event, but it will showcase some of the events that fans were looking forward to. The 48-hour broadcast will start on May 29, and it sees support from partners like Mastercard, State Farm, Red Bull, and Secretlab.

The broadcast will consist of matches from regions like North America, Europe, Russia, Brazil, Latin America, and more. In addition, the heavily fan-requested LPL and LCK showdown will take place over two segments, featuring a semifinals and finals event. Some of the other content includes a matchup between casters and champions, along with a showdown between Brazilian influencers Gabriel “Kami” Bohm Santos and Felipe “YoDa” Noronha.

Raising funds for COVID-19 relief

Fans that donate during the Mid-Season Streamathon will be supporting a network of nonprofit organizations that address COVID-19 relief efforts. This is done through the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, which distributes to organizations like the ImpactAssets COVID Response Fund and the GlobalGiving Coronavirus Relief Fund.

With social distancing in effect, the Mid-Season Streamathon will help to engage with fans and raise money for a good cause. Those interested in further cross-region matches will have to wait for the upcoming World Championships instead

The live broadcast will begin on Friday, May 29 at 5:00 p.m. PT and last until Sunday, May 31. Catch all of the action on watch.lolesports.com and in other languages on your respective regional channel.
