Riot Games reveals new League of Legends Mecha Kingdom skins

Riot Games has announced a new line of League of Legends cosmetic skins coming early next year. The new line, called Mecha Kingdom, appears to be giant robot forms of some of our favorite champions.

Five Mecha Kingdom skins coming to League of Legends

In the short trailer, Jax is shown standing on the hand of a massive robot, peering over a misty valley. Jax has a voice-over, saying, “The great kingdoms warred for generations, until the arrival of a new enemy. To fight back, we were blessed with gifts from the heavens. I, Jax, now stand mountains tall.”

So far Jax is the only one confirmed for receiving a new skin. The League of Legends Twitter account confirmed that four other champions will be receiving a giant robot skin but did not say which.

Lots of questions come with this trailer, with not many answers. We can guess who the five kingdoms are: Freljord, Noxus, Piltover, Demacia, and maybe Ionia. Likely the other four champions will be representing the major kingdoms in the League of Legends lore. The video also has the caption: “We must rise above the past if we wish to have a future.” This could potentially be hinting that the other champions getting the Mecha Kingdom skins might be bitter enemies in the lore.

The skins could also be pointing to a new game mode, since Jax’s voice-over talks about needing to team up against a new enemy. While there might be a lot of speculation, all we can do is wait for Riot Games to tell us more as we get closer to the skins’ release.

Don’t forget that you can also pick up a free skin from your Twitch Prime account starting now until the Jan. 6.

The new skins will be releasing on Jan. 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. PT. What do you think about them? What other champions would you like to see get a Mecha Kingdom skin? Let us know in the comments, and follow Daily Esports for all your League of Legends news.
