The first-ever RLCS 1v1 Match-up: Ayyjayy vs LionBlaze

The first match will be on Friday, April 23 with the only North American pairing in the event. FaZe Clan’s Austin “Ayyjayy” Aebi faces Ghost Gaming’s “LionBlaze.” Both are formidable 1v1 players, always hovering around the top of the leaderboards. They’ve shown off on RLCS caster John “Johnnyboi_i” MacDonald’s Twitch stream in showcase matches against other top 1v1 players.

Match-up 2: eekso vs OSM

The second match is between Englishman Dylan “eekso” Pickering, currently on Aether, and the Icelandic Gabriel “OSM” Sindri Benediktsson. Both players are high-tier 1v1 players, though only one has gone professional. Eekso has recently shown his face more in the RLCS while OSM is known from his work on other platforms as a content creator.

Match-up 3: Scrub Killa vs Ashllxyy

Match number three features one of the greatest 1v1 players of all time in Kyle “Scrub Killa” Robertson and the one-handed “Ashllxyy.” Scrub has recently taken a step back from 1v1 and while he remains a talented and high-level 1v1 player, he is no longer the talent he used to be. Ashllxyy recently grew in popularity once fans realized he was keeping up with the best with just one hand.

Match-up 4: ApparentlyJack vs Joreuz

Dignitas teammates Jack “ApparentlyJack” Benton and Joris “Joreuz” Robben recently battled each other in what went down as the greatest 1v1 match of all time and will face each other once again on the RLCS main stream on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. EDT.

Match-up 5: Fairy Peak vs oKhaliD

Team Vitality’s Victor “Fairy Peak” Locquet will play against the only Middle Eastern competitor to close off the RLCSX Battle of the Bulls. Khalid “oKhaliD” Qasim is a Saudi Arabian player considered to be the poster child for the region, repeatedly proving that the Middle Eastern region deserves a spot in the RLCS. He’s been a thorn in Fairy Peak’s and Scrub Killa’s sides in previous matchups. While both Fairy and Scrub are focusing more on 3v3 these days, oKhaliD has to be in the conversation of best 1v1 players in the world.

A notable absence is that of Rogue’s Jason “Firstkiller” Corral. The mechanical wonderkid is considered one of the best Rocket League players in the world. It is unknown why he is not playing.
