Rocket League’s Formula 1 Fan Pack introduces a dominus hitbox and more

Rocket League's second F1-styled car

The Formula 1 Fan Pack arrives in Rocket League on May 20, Psyonix announced on Wednesday, May 19. The pack will introduce the new Formula 1 2021 battle car, which sports a dominus hitbox, as well as a multitude of new F1 items.

The Formula 1 Fan Pack includes various decals from the Formula 1 scene. All 10 teams are included in the $20 pack, which also introduces Pirelli Wheels. Naturally, these items can only be used on the Formula 1 car and, as usual, the vehicle is limited to equipping only the items that come with the pack. A slideshow of all the decals can be seen on the official announcement page.

Rocket League’s second F1 car

The new Formula 1 car is not the first F1 racing car in Rocket League. In 2017, the Animus GP battle car dropped from overdrive crates and looked similar to an F1 car. However, as opposed to the Formula 1 2021 car, the Animus GP sports a breakout hitbox. But, with a host of customization options and a price of around $5 in the community trading sphere, it may be a more tempting choice than the latest addition.

Whereas the recent NASCAR pack introduced three real-world NASCAR cars, each also sporting the dominus hitbox, the Formula 1 Fan Pack comes with just one new car. For the same price, fans are questioning whether the pack is worth purchasing. But, for fans of Formula 1, it may be worth the price tag.

A multi-year partnership

As is often the case, the Formula 1 Fan Pack also heralds the arrival of a free player banner for anyone who logs in to Rocket League during the first week of its launch. However, the player banner will make a return throughout the year, coinciding with major Formula 1 events.

The Formula 1 Fan Pack will also return with major F1 events, much like the NASCAR 2021 Fan Pack.
