Season 2 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific delayed

The next season of Call of Duty has been pushed back

The first season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific hasn’t been what the developers or fans had in mind. From numerous game-breaking bugs to overpowered weapons remaining in each game, Season 1 has been one to forget. Due to the overwhelming amount of issues in both Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, Activision has delayed the release of Season 2 to Feb. 14, 2022.

Season 2 is highly-anticipated by many fans. This is when the long-awaited arrival of Ranked Play is supposedly coming to Vanguard, among other new pieces of content. However, the developers feel that there are too many issues still remaining in Season 1 to release a new season. The delay of Season 2 gives the developers time to fix the problems so everything can launch at the same time. This includes content such as new maps and weapons to bug fixes and weapon balancing.

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 2 delayed

The developers of Call of Duty acknowledged fan concerns and the number of issues currently plaguing the franchise. The original launch date of Season 2 was set for Feb. 2, but that’s been pushed to Feb. 14. The developers will work to address fan feedback and the problems across Call of Duty during this extra period.

“To date, we’ve deployed a number of updates, but more needs to be done,’ reads the post on the official Call of Duty website. “We will use this additional development time to deliver updates, including optimizations to gameplay, game balancing (including weapon and equipment balancing), to fix game stability and bugs, and to ensure an overall level of polish to improve the experience for players across Vanguard, Warzone Pacific, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare.”

Activision also stated that more communication will be a focal point “going forward.” Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software have been somewhat silent on social media regarding the issues in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific. While they’re still releasing regular updates, fans often aren’t aware of exactly what’s being worked on until an update is announced. The developers aim to address this gap in communication before Season 2 releases.

There’s no word on if another update will precede Season 2 in either Vanguard or Warzone Pacific.
