The Seattle Surge is adding to its coaching staff for the 2020 Call of Duty League. Making the announcement yesterday, the organization revealed they have signed Ted “TeddyRecks” Kim. The Surge is signing the Twitch streamer to be a Search and Destroy Analyst, helping out Head Coach Joey “Nubzy” DiGiacomo. While some predicted TeddyRecks would be a substitute for a CDL team, he instead lands a coaching position with one of the top teams in the league. The Call of Duty League begins on Jan 24, with the launch weekend held in Minnesota.
TeddyRecks joins Seattle as an Analyst
TeddyRecks had been teasing his announcement for weeks on Twitter. Though it did look concerning at times for the streamer, TeddyRecks lands with Seattle thanks to his mastery of Search and Destroy.

For the past several years, TeddyRecks has been streaming Search and Destroy wagers and tournaments on his Twitch channel. Constantly putting up insane numbers in the game mode, Teddy is known around Call of Duty for his SnD prowess. He even had a certain location on the Black Ops 3 map ‘Redwood’ named after him due to his discovery of the spot.
In addition to streaming, Teddy has also tried his hand at competing in the CWL since Infinite Warfare. Though he never made much noise in tournaments, he did place 13-16 at the 2018 CWL Championships under Lethal Gaming.
So far in Modern Warfare, he’s racked up some solid placements in various SnD tournaments. While he’s proved capable enough of holding his own against professionals, a coaching position apparently suits Teddy better. As a Search and Destroy Analyst, he will work closely with the team and Head Coach Nubzy in perfecting their gameplay. TeddyRecks’ job will be to come up with strategies for each map as well as roles based on who is playing.
