Thibault “Chaussette45” Grzesiak is Semper Esports’ new third, the organization revealed today.

The move had been hinted at for some time, with Chaussette45 already playing with Semper Esports in the offseason. The Frenchman joins fellow countryman Andy “Kassio” Landais and rising superstar from England Archie “archie” Pickthall for the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Season 11.

Chaussette45 strengthens Semper Esports

Chaussette45 is a long-standing name in the professional Rocket League scene. He has multiple first place finishes under his belt, including DreamHack Leipzig 2018, DreamHack Valencia 2019 and the regular season of RLCS 8. Most recently, he played under Solary, which disbanded with Maëllo “AztraL” Ernst moving to Karmine Corp, leaving Victor “Ferra” Francal on his own.

In June of 2021, Semper — known as Top Blokes at the time — saw the departure of Jack “FlamE” Pearton. This opened the door for Chaussette45. The team comes off a successful RLCS Season X, where they finished in third place in the regular season and third-fourth in the season-concluding Championships. However, Chaussette45’s signing implies that they can do even better.

In turn, Chaussette45 had a relatively successful season. With Oxygen, he had a rough start of the season, but he ultimately performed well enough in the spring major to clinch a top six spot and earn a ticket to the RLCS X Championships. With Team Vitality and Team BDS as the top two in Europe, Chaussette45 and company certainly do not have an easy road ahead of them.

The first performances have already shown promise. Chaussette45’s debut with Semper was a victory in the Gamers Without Borders 2021 tournament. Semper earned $200,000, which was donated to the charity organization UNICEF.

“Can’t wait to see what we can do together,” Chaussette45 said of his new team on Twitter.

Meanwhile, RLCS Season 11 has not yet been announced, but teams across Europe are beginning to take shape.
