Should Psyonix implement a “Sell Item” feature into Rocket League?

It’s been nearly a week since the Blueprint update in Rocket League, and we still have no word from Psyonix regarding Credits. The new currency in Rocket League, Psyonix implemented Credits as a new way to earn cosmetic items. However, the items in the Item Shop take a massive amount of Credits to purchase. In some cases, a single goal explosion costs more than Rocket League itself.

Many fans are calling for a re-work of the system or a completely new pricing model. Although, one simplistic fan-made feature could alleviate some of the problems the game is currently facing.

Something needs to change in Rocket League

There’s no doubt that Psyonix will adjust some mechanic in a future update. Whether it’s lowering the Item Shop prices or something else, the community outcry is too large for them to ignore. Of course, Credits won’t be going anywhere, as that’s the only currency in Rocket League.

So, with Credits sticking around for the long haul, what are some ways to earn them easier? If players could earn them in other ways besides the Rocket Pass, maybe the prices wouldn’t seem so steep. A fan on Reddit by the username of Hedinn1 came up with a fantastic idea for this.

Rocket League already has a system in place where you can trade in 5 items for an item of higher value. However, that requires tons of cosmetics, which many players don’t have any more thanks to the removal of crates.

However, with this “Sell” concept, players could trade in a single item that they no longer want in exchange for Credits. The number of Credits you receive would be based on the rarity of the item. However, in order to keep the game’s economy stable, you wouldn’t receive a substantial amount of Credits.

This is definitely a feature Psyonix should look into. At the least, they should look into a feature of this nature, allowing Rocket League players to earn Credits in another way besides the Rocket Pass.
