“We are incredibly proud to have our logo next to the world-famous Swoosh,” said Alexander T. Müller, Managing Director SK Gaming, in a release. “As a brand, Nike stands for values that we live and breathe every day while 11teamsports will be able to provide us with the best possible support and infrastructure to take our merchandise to the next level.”

This announcement is the first venture of both companies for esports in Germany. To celebrate the partnership, SK Gaming hosted an exclusive launch party and officially revealed the brand new Nike jerseys that will be used for the 2020 season. In addition, SK Gaming players, press representatives, and a number of surprise guests showed up at the 11teamsports flagship store in Berlin, Germany.

SK Gaming’s football and esports fans

“We are proud of announcing the new cooperation with SK Gaming, and we look forward to cooperating with Nike, one of the major global players, with regard to merchandising and matchwear collections,” said Dennis Schröder, Managing Director of 11teamsports. “At 11teamsport, we consider this opportunity a perfect starting point for launching our common topics and enlisting the global appeal of the Nike brand as support for the excellent team surrounding Alexander Müller in a professional way.”

With SK Gaming’s fanbase, this is a great way to attract those interested in both sports and gaming. The existing consumer base of 11teamsports is mostly young football fans who also happen to enjoy FIFA esports, which makes this collaboration perfect. The jerseys from this partnership will be the online retail store’s first foray into the esports scene.

This partnership follows other recent moves by Nike in esports, with organizations like the Vodafone Giants, T1, FURIA, and the League of Legends Pro League (LPL).
