Sources: Soniqs remove IyeN and dizzyLife from starting VALORANT roster

Soniqs have made some changes

North American and Australian organization Susquehanna Soniqs are set to remove Iyengaran “IyeN” Raju and Kyran “dizzyLife” Crombie from the starting VALORANT roster, multiple sources told Upcomer and Max “Purest” Katz on Thursday.

The future of Ethan “Crunchy” Laker’s position on the roster also remains uncertain. Crunchy could seek opportunities elsewhere.

Soniqs entered VALORANT earlier this year but have not had the same level of success as other major brands within the scene. Soniqs typically performed at the semi-professional level but have still managed to defeat some other North American professional VALORANT teams.

The biggest test for the side will start next year with the start of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022 season, which begins in late January. The team will have to compete in the open qualifiers to try and secure a place in the regional circuit for the next few months.

Soniqs recently competed in the Nerd Street Gamers Winter Championship — Open 10, which concluded on Dec. 22. Soniqs, alongside teams such as Built by Gamers Academy and VIRTUOSO, finished inside of the top eight. TSM Academy defeated Soniqs in the quarterfinals after the Australian side took down ex-FLICKBAITERS 2-1.

Soniqs also competed in the recent Frag offline event, which concluded on Dec. 20. The Frag Major saw On the Way as the victors while Soniqs, one of the only organizations to attend the tournament, finished inside of the top four.

Following the removal of IyeN and dizzyLife, Soniqs will temporarily field the following VALORANT roster:

  • Jason “JSUNG” Sung
  • Bob Tran
  • Crunchy
