SoaR Gaming player Alexander “zander” Dituri is set to sign with Version1 to complete their VALORANT roster, multiple sources told Upcomer and journalist Max “Purest” Katz.

Zander will be the team’s in-game-leader following the removal of Chad “Oderus” Miller from the starting lineup. Version1 will not practice for a short time, as the team will have a break for the festive period.

The 20-year-old zander has made a name for himself among the professional players with his impressive performance on SoaR and at the semi-professional level.

He, alongside the rest of his pickup team On The Way, was victorious at the Frag VALORANT Major in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which concluded on Dec. 20. They defeated Booster Seat Gaming in the grand final 2-0.

Version1 most recently competed in the VALORANT Elite Showdown, which concluded on Nov. 15. They lost to The Pittsburgh Knights in the round of 32 and were eliminated from the tournament after a few rounds of competition.

Version1 are one of the few teams from North America to attend an international event in 2021. Earlier this year, with former in-game-leader Anthony “vanity” Malaspina at the helm, Version1 managed to secure qualification for VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 2: Masters Reykjavik, in Iceland. Vanity would later re-join his former Chaos teammates on Cloud9 later in the year.

The team defeated Crazy Raccoon in the first round of VCT Masters and took down Team Liquid in the second round. Version1 were sent to the lower bracket, however, by NUTURN Gaming and eliminated by eventual runners-up Fnatic in the third round of the lower bracket.

Version1 will compete in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022, which will begin in January.

The team is set to compete with the following roster:

  • zander
  • Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro
  • Erik Penny
  • Loic “effys” Sauvageau
  • Maxim “wippie” Shepelev
  • Ian “Immi” Harding
