Though Modern Warfare has a plethora of problems, there is one that has been lingering since launch: bad spawns. With every passing day, a new clip appears on Twitter of a mind-boggling spawn point. And while some of the other current problems in the game take some time to fix, this particular issue should have been patched long ago.
The problem is somewhat present in standard public matches, but it really stands out in competitive hardpoint and domination. Spawns have been an issue in both of these modes since the game launched. However, we’ve seen little to no updates by Infinity Ward. In fact, the problem has seemingly gotten worse with every new patch.
Spawns: Competitive players’ number one concern
It’s no secret that professional players are quite vocal with their opinions regarding Modern Warfare. Though it sometimes gets out of hand, most pros are speaking out of passion. Playing Modern Warfare is their job, after all.
While the lack of Dead Silence and the tick rate of custom games are top concerns, perhaps the chief concern is the spawn logic – or lack thereof. In both hardpoint and domination, spawns seem to be random for the most part, making practice nearly impossible.
Can someone explain this to me please? Thank you pic.twitter.com/1NFZbjBOax

In the clip above, a player who’s just died spawns a few feet away from the hardpoint. This is the exact opposite of what’s supposed to happen, as players who die usually spawn somewhat far away from the current hardpoint.
Even though clips like this are running rampant on Twitter, Infinity Ward has still yet to comment. Whether this means they’re working on a fix or blind to the issue remains unknown. However, as we’re a month after Modern Warfare‘s launch, this problem should have been resolved or at least mitigated by now.
Instead, to the dismay of competitive players, the issue is worse than ever after the 1.09 update. Practicing hardpoint or domination is a real challenge, and trying to come up with strategies for each map is impossible due to the unknown spawn points.
The community deserves some more communication from Infinity Ward. If we knew how far along they were with a fix for the spawn logic, things would be different. However, we don’t even know if Infinity Ward is working on a patch for the issue. YouTuber TheXclusiveAce talks about the lack of communication in his newest video.
Hopefully, we start to see some real fixes to Modern Warfare‘s issues soon. If not, things could take a drastic turn for the game and for Infinity Ward.
