From July 22 to Aug. 1, PGStats ranked the top 50 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players in the world. Unlike the MPGR, the Spring 2019 PGRU was decided by an algorithm designed by Andrew “PracticalTAS” Nestico. The algorithm ranked players based on their wins, losses, and placements at tournaments from Feb. 1 through July 7. The rankings also include an honorable mentions list known as Area 51. The Spring 2019 PGRU is as follows:

The Spring 2019 PGRU
MkLeo convincingly achieved 1st on the inaugural Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spring 2019 PGRU. Though he faced close competition from Tweek early in the season, MkLeo had dominant results in the latter portion. Going forward, MkLeo will be the player to dethrone in Smash Ultimate. However, he has not shown the same level of dominance as Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios did in Smash 4.
Despite his recent controversy and ban, Ally still appeared on the Spring 2019 PGRU. However, the top 10 reveal video did not show clips of his combos as it did for other players. Similarly, he did not receive a graphic in the reveal article. Instead, the reveal article just listed his tournament results from the season.
Many of the players on this list were never ranked on a PGR for Smash 4. As a result, their appearance on the Spring 2019 PGRU marks their top 50 debut for Super Smash Bros. These players are: Zackray, Glutonny, Tea, Wishes, ProtoBanham, MuteAce, Puppeh, Stroder, Lea, Dark Wizzy, yeti, LeoN, Prodigy, Goblin, Umeki, The Great Gonzales, Frozen, and Suarez.
