On Saturday, Feb. 6, Bandai Namco held a special live stream event called the Dragon Ball Battle Hour.  During this time, the SS4 Gogeta trailer was released. Originally from Dragon Ball GT, SS4 Gogeta is the fifth and final DLC character for Season 3 of Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Other games included in the Battle Hour were Dragon Ball Legends, Dokkan Battle, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the Dragon Ball Super Card Game, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and, of course, Dragon Ball FighterZ.

SS4 Gogeta has the ability to airdash twice, something that no other character can do. This means that his mixup potential with the right lockdown assist is incredible. He is also the first character to directly interact with the Dragon Ball/Shenron mechanic. SS4 Gogeta’s uppercut move lets a player gain a dragon ball on hit or block. This move does not have a lot of blockstun though, so its primary function will be for ending combos. This means that SS4 Gogeta has extremely easy access to Shenron, the game’s biggest comeback mechanic.

The final Goku?

His third biggest feature, however, will probably be the most meta defining. SS4 Gogeta has a taunt type move that is quick and vanish cancellable. This move can be used up to seven times, gaining a level each time, similar to Adult Gohan. Each level increases the damage of his next level 1 or level 3 super, which can be used both on the ground and in the air. At level seven, SS4 Gogeta’s level three does a whopping 20,000 damage. That is double the length of a standard health bar for any character in the game.

If a player were to touch an opponent at level seven with three meter, that opponent would be demolished. In this combo video—made for the stream by community member Spun—you can see this in action

SS4 Gogeta will be released on Friday, March 12, along with a new patch. There are no patch notes on the official site as of yet, but some information was given on stream. Also, no information was given as to the possibility of a season four during the event.
