Meet the challengers

The New Challengers stage is mixed with teams that have never made it to a Major before and teams that are considered to be top 10 on the global ranking. Below are all the teams that will be battling it out to reach the subsequent Legends stage.

With a few favorites such as mousesports, NRG, or Vitality, the battle will feature teams that will be trying to shake things up. CR4ZY have made upsets against mousesports and North while eliminating Fnatic entirely from the minor. The returning Australian team, Grayhound Gaming, is back for its second-ever major and has looked promising in the minor. Surely, we’re going to see a fantastic battle between the attending teams at the initial stage as only half of them will live on to contend at the New Legends Stage.

Meet the Legends

The following teams have gotten to the playoffs of the previous Major in Katowice. This has granted them Legend status, meaning that they do not need to qualify for the next Major, which happens to be in Berlin. The following teams will be waiting for the New Challengers to arrive.

The very best of the best take the initial eight places. With Team Liquid taking the recent tournaments one after the other, it will be fascinating to see whether Astralis can get back in shape and challenge the NA side.

On the flipside, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev will be out for blood with his Natus Vincere, as the best player in the world is looking for his first-ever Major victory. Meanwhile, FaZe Clan will be attending their first major with a CS:GO veteran from Virtus.pro, Filip “neo” Kubski, as their in-game-leader.

Who will ultimately make it to the playoffs? Who will be crowned as the StarLadder Major champion? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below, and as always follow us at Daily Esports for all your latest news in the CS:GO world.
