SumaiL and iceiceice round out Team Secret roster

Another super team graces the Dota Pro Circuit

Team Secret announced Daryl koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang and Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan as the final two members for their 2021-2022 Dota roster. These players will fill the spots that Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen and Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg left after leaving the team earlier this week.

SumaiL and iceiceice were the premier free agents this offseason. With OG Esports reportedly looking to field a younger team, it makes sense that SumaiL would move to a team with veterans.

SumaiL was previously with OG Esports for the tail end of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit. He helped the squad qualify for The International 10 through the Western Europe regional qualifier. Despite the difficult year OG Esports had, they planned to turn it around during The International 10. However, the two-time winners were not able to go for the three-peat as they faced the eventual winners Team Spirit in the lower bracket. They lost in the third round of the lower bracket in a 2-0 sweep. SumaiL will now join a stacked Team Secret and play with Captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov. The veteran team for Secret now adds a great midlaner, while Michał “Nisha” Jankowski moves to carry.

Iceiceice joins the team as another veteran coming from a successful stint with Evil Geniuses. His professional Dota career spans over a decade and he ended up in the top two in the WePlay AniMajor in Kyiv, Ukraine. With Captain Tal “Fly” Aizik leaving Evil Geniuses for Southeast Asia, the team is making some large-scale changes. Iceiceice brings a veteran voice to Team Secret and a wide hero pool to play around in the offlane — most well-known for heroes like Timbersaw, Lycan and Tidehunter.

“Pretty excited to be playing with Secret,” iceiceice said in Team Secret’s announcement post. “It’s a perfect lineup for my playstyle, and Puppey has always been someone I’ve wanted to play with for the last 10 years. I love camels and I can’t wait to be punched by Puppey.”

Team Secret will now field one of the strongest rosters in Western Europe, if not the world. It will be exciting to see this team once the Dota Pro Circuit starts at the end of November.
