With the League of Legends roster change window officially closed, the final announcements of roster changes in the LPL are coming in. In an announcement on Weibo, the Suning Gaming (SN) organization revealed its roster for the 2019 Demacia Cup. It is expected that this roster will also be what they are fielding for the 2020 LPL season.
Introducing SofM to Suning Gaming
On Nov. 26, Le “SofM” Quang Duy left the Li-Ning Gaming (LNG) roster, with whom he competed during the LPL 2019 Summer Split. Earlier today, however, the SN organization announced that SofM will be joining the roster for the 2020 season. This news surprised many, as Suning already had a jungle player on the roster, Wei “WeiWei” Bo-Han. However, with the announcement of the Demacia Cup roster for the SN team, SofM was listed as the only jungler on the roster.
Unexpected role swaps
Old jungle player WeiWei will be switching to the bot lane. WeiWei will be sharing the bot lane role with a new player joining the SN roster, Zou “Assum” Wei. Which of the players will earn himself the starter position for the roster is yet to be announced, as very little is known about either player’s ability in the bot lane position.
This was not the only surprise, as the top lane player, Xiang “Angel” Tao, is now listed as the mid lane player for the team. His replacement in the top lane will be Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin, the former top laner of Suning-S, the development league team of SN. Angel used to compete in the mid lane role, until the LPL 2019 Summer Split, where the team decided to field Angel in the top lane position instead, fielding Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang in the mid lane position.
More losses for the SN roster
Lee “Easyhoon” Ji-hoon will be stepping down from his coaching role. Easyhoon had been coaching Suning throughout the 2019 season. This comes after his six-year career as mid lane player on several of Korea’s best esports organizations and a three-year career on Vici Gaming. Besides this, the top lane substitute Yu “Biubiu” Lei-Xin also left the organization earlier today.
A new head coach
Hours after the roster was revealed for the Demacia Cup, the new assistant coach for SN was announced. Lee “Fury” Jin-Yong will be returning to the organization after spending the 2018 season with APK Price. Fury spent most of his career as a bot lane player for various Chinese teams, including SN during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Now, however, he will be stepping up as SN’s new assistant coach and will hopefully lead them to a successful 2020 season.
