SuPeRbOoMfAn’s run began with predictable wins against “GooseWithSocks,” “Grahamaglam,” and “B0xx.” In Winners Quarters, he defeated Patrick “Dogs_Johnson” Donaldson. With this win, he easily earned himself a spot in top 8 on winners side.

SuPeRbOoMfAn continued unopposed throughout top 8. He flawlessly overcame both Josh Brody and “HAMMERHEART.” SuPeRbOoMfAn rematched HAMMERHEART in Grand Finals, where he suffered his only game loss of the whole event. Still, he beat HAMMERHEART 3-1 to win Boss Battle: Quarantine – East Coast Monthly #1. Of course, SuPeRbOoMfAn’s victory was hardly surprising, given that he’s the best Smash 64 player in North America by far.

Boss Battle: Quarantine – East Coast Monthly #1 marked the beginning of an online Smash 64 tournament series. The tournament was hosted by David “B33F” Avila and streamed by Jason “Darkhorse” Brody. Interestingly, none of the tournament’s matches were broadcast live. Instead, players sent videos of their sets to Darkhorse, who then replayed them on his Twitch channel.

Other results from Boss Battle: Quarantine – East Coast Monthly #1

HAMMERHEART had an impressive run to 2nd place at Boss Battle: Quarantine #1 as the seventh seed. He began his run with flawless victories over the likes of Bryan “Near” Pen and Abacus “LD” Zilch. Then he beat “Fray” 3-1 before losing to SuPeRbOoMfAn. Finally, HAMMERHEART won his rematch against LD 3-0 in Losers Finals.

LD placed a respectable 3rd, only losing to the tournament’s runner-up, HAMMERHEART. In particular, his losers run was impressive. LD eliminated “emptyW,” Collin “lord narwhal” Fitzgerald, Josh Brody, and Jaime “JaimeHR” Hernandez.

Despite initial wins over Dane “The Protagonist” Howard and Rafael “Madrush” Oceguera, JaimeHR lost to “supa” fairly early. However, JaimeHR made a deep losers run to place 4th Boss Battle: Quarantine – East Coast Monthly #1. He reached top 8 by defeating “Dad,” B33F, and Dogs_Johnson. From there, JaimeHR eliminated Joel Isai Alvarado and Fray.
