TD Bank, also known as Toronto-Dominion Bank, is one of Canada’s largest banking groups. Since this is the bank’s first time entering the esports world, there may be plenty of other esports opportunities for the major bank ahead. OverActive Media’s VP of global partnerships Tyler Keenan is excited to be a part of this major milestone for both organizations.

“Adding a national brand and globally-recognized institution like TD as a sponsor is a game-changer for our organization,” Keenan stated. “TD has a reputation for helping to support the growth of diverse communities across our country, and it is very empowering to us that they are taking on sponsorship of this nature and entirely dedicated to our Defiant fans.”

TD Banks focuses on Defiant fans and upcoming events

This partnership includes a new community-focused fan profile series and the title sponsorship of an upcoming online amateur Overwatch tournament. Additionally, TD Bank will be the presenting sponsor of Toronto Defiant’s upcoming Fan Appreciation Weekend. The fan-centric event presented by the bank will run from August 20-23. As the first event of its kind, it will include a virtual watch party, community arcade, giveaways, and more.

“The upcoming Fan Appreciation Weekend is the perfect opportunity for our newest sponsor to join our Defiant family and help me and my teammates enhance our connection with fans,” said Toronto Defiant player Brady “Agilities” Girardi.

TD Bank joins other sponsors with OverActive Media franchises, including Universal Music Canada, Canon Canada, SCUF Gaming, Kappa, and imagin. Besides its Overwatch League team, OverActive Media operates the Toronto Ultra Call of Duty League, and MAD Lions franchise.
