In a world of young gaming prodigies, Team 33 may have just signed one of the youngest ever. Announced earlier today, 8-year old Fortnite player Joseph Deen has signed with esports organization Team 33. According to the announcement, Deen has been practicing with the team’s Fortnite roster since he was a mere six years old. In addition to joining the team, Deen also reportedly received a whopping $33,000 signing bonus. This has nothing to do with his salary to join the team — it’s simply an added bonus for joining the organization.

Upon the breaking of this story, many didn’t know what to make of it. First of all, not many in the community have even heard of the esports organization Team 33. Relatively new to the scene, the organization is apparently a Hollywood-based team that will field high-quality gaming rosters.

On its website, the team is claiming to be backed by several investors and celebrities. Furthermore, there will also apparently be special guests making appearances for the organization. These guests include the likes of Post Malone, Diddy, Drake, Ty Dolla $ign, and more.

Also advertised on the team’s website is a luxury gaming house located in Los Angeles, California. This is supposedly where the organization’s talent will come to train together. It’s also reported this mansion is home to a recording studio for many of the team’s special guests like Drake and Post Malone.

As for the signing of Joseph Deen, the team stated that they “are beyond excited to have Joseph on our exclusive Team 33 roster. We have secretly been scouting talent for our roster and games over the last few years and are proud to officially sign Joseph.”

As previously stated, Deen was practicing with the team’s Fortnite roster since he was six. However, it’s unclear what the plan for Deen is moving forward. At eight years old, he can’t compete in any major gaming tournaments and also can’t stream without a guardian present.

Team 33 certainly seems to have some big plans for the future, but it remains to be seen if they’ll come to fruition or not. For now, though, the organization has ties to Fortnite prodigy Joseph Deen for the foreseeable future.
