Team ACHES decidedly win 100 Thieves Legends Show Match

Aches and Nadeshot squared off one final time

On Tuesday the 100 Thieves Legends Show Match took place live at the 100T Cash App Compound. The match was a heated bout between longtime Call of Duty rivals Patrick “ACHES” Price and Matt “Nadeshot” Haag. Each retired player drafted a team of three, which consisted of current and retired COD players.

The Show Match was technically the first LAN event on Call of Duty: Vanguard. It was a best-of-seven 4v4 match that didn’t have any monetary prize associated with it. There was a championship belt up for grabs, which Team ACHES handily won over Team Nadeshot.

100 Thieves Legends Show Match goes to ACHES

Team ACHES consisted of current LA Thieves head coach Jordan “Jkap” Kaplan, retired pro Tommy “ZooMaa” Paparrato and the best COD player of all time Ian “Crimsix” Porter. The team of four went against Nadeshot’s team of current OpTic Texas coach Ray “Rambo” Lussier, retired pro and current Halo Infinite player Matt “FormaL” Piper and James “Clayster” Eubanks of the New York Subliners.

Both ACHES and Nadeshot picked players they previously teamed up with. ACHES chose his old Complexity/Evil Genuises teammate Crimsix while Nadeshot chose former OpTic Gaming cohort FormaL.

The best-of-seven series began with a close 6-5 match in Search and Destroy going to Team ACHES. It was clear that ACHES’ squad knew the maps better than their opponents. Perhaps Crimsix helped out with that, but each member of the squad at least knows Vanguard in some capacity.

Team Nadeshot clearly did not, with only Clayster and Rambo being familiar with the maps and game. This was on full display in the two Hardpoint maps, which Team ACHES won without any trouble.

Team ACHES ended up winning the series 4-0, sweeping Team Nadeshot and securing the championship belt at the 100 Thieves Legends Show Match. However, the teams played out the remaining three maps in the series and Team Nadeshot proved they could hang with their opponents, winning the next two maps.

Perhaps this can be an annual event with every new Call of Duty at the Cash App Compound. For now, though, fans got to see some legends of the game share the same stage for possibly the last time.
