Team BDS announced Friday that Fabian “GrabbZ” Lohmann and Christopher “Duffman” Duff will coach for them during the 2022 League of Legends European Championship. Both coaches were with G2 Esports for the past four years before organization co-owner and CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez announced he planned to overhaul his staff and players for the 2022 season.

“We are really happy to announce that we’ll be forming the coaching staff for BDS for the next year,” Grabbz said in the introduction video. “I hope you guys are going to follow us on this journey after being on G2 for four years and that we are going to bring you more happy memories in the future.”
The move is pending Riot Games approval, according to the announcement, and was first reported in October by Esportmaniacos.
Team BDS have yet to announce their LEC roster. The new LEC franchise has reached verbal agreements with Adam “Adam” Maanane from Fnatic in the top lane, Matthew Charles “xMatty” Coombs in the bot lane and Jakub “Cinkrof” Rokicki in the jungle – both formerly of Karmine Corp – as reported by Upcomer. Ilias “NUCLEARINT” Bizriken and Dino “LIMIT” Tot will reportedly fill out the mid lane and support roles for the team as well.
Both GrabbZ and Duffman were a part of G2’s European dynasty between 2018 and 2020. With G2, the coaches led the players to four international tournament appearances, a League of Legends World Championship finals appearance, four LEC regular season titles and a Mid-Season Invitational trophy.
But 2021 saw the team take a dip in form as they missed qualification for both international events for the year and fell apart in the playoffs in both splits as they placed third and fourth in the spring and summer respectively.
Fans can see GrabbZ back onstage once again as the LEC season starts on Jan. 14, 2022.
