Team Liquid partnering with Blood Centers of America

Team Liquid has announced that they are entering a partnership with the Blood Centers of America. The North American esports organization urges fans to join them in giving blood donations and saving more lives. One part of the partnership consists of blood donation buses with the team’s color scheme and signature horse head logo. Esports fans will be able to conveniently donate blood on-the-go and also earn some rewards while doing so.

Esports fans can donate blood at one of the blood donation buses with a Team Liquid-inspired design. By doing so, they can also earn some limited edition merch. This will consist of a red Team Liquid tee. The buses will be available at a select number of universities, Team Liquid events, and possibly other esports competitions that include Team Liquid teams.

“We’re proud to partner with Blood Centers of America and its members on this life-saving initiative,” said Steve Arhancet, the owner of Team Liquid. “Our fans are such a supportive, tight-knit community, and now we’re calling on them to help us accomplish something bigger than what we could achieve in any competition. Collectively, we have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on communities as well as save lives.”

Impact of Blood Centers of America

“Blood donations have never been more important, and everyone can play a part in making sure that people who need blood are able to get it.,” said Bill Block, the BCA President and CEO. “If everyone touched by this campaign signs up and shares the message with family and friends, we would see a major difference.”

Team Liquid’s partnership with Blood Centers of America highlights a key issue in America. Every two seconds, a patient requires blood in America. However, less than 20 percent of donations come from the 20 to 34-year-old range. With a large portion of Team Liquid’s fanbase within this range, the organization hopes to create some real-world change through the partnership.

The Blood Centers of America organization is a national network of over 50 independent blood centers that provides blood products. Almost 40% of the United States’ blood supply comes from the BCA. The BCA also provides other services like patient blood management, transfusion services, therapeutic apheresis, and more.

Team Liquid asked fans to keep an eye on their social media platform on June 14. June 14 is also the 2019 World Blood Donor Day. Have you donated blood recently?
