At the end of a best-of-five grand final, Team Spirit won The International 10. After a long series, Team Spirit has etched their name in DOTA 2 history as the winner of the 10th International. They walk away with approximately $18 million and the title as the best DOTA 2 team in the world.

Team Spirit wins The International 10

Team Spirit won the first two games in dominating fashion, including an amazing Magnus performance by Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov. He kept using the Horn Toss and Skewer combo in order to pick all members of PSG.LGD. With a 2-0 lead, it seemed that Team Spirit was set to take the finals in a sweep. However, PSG.LGD did not allow that to happen. PSG.LGD came back to take the next two games in the same dominating fashion. With a stomp in the fourth game, PSG.LGD took back the momentum with a scoreline of 23-3. The grand final of The International 10 went to a fifth game in order to determine the $18 million prize.

PSG.LGD got ahead early with their Skywrath Mage, Enchantress, and Lycan in Game 5. They recognized that Team Spirit’s draft was weak early and looked to make moves while Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk’s Terrorblade farmed up. A combination of several controlled jungle creeps by Enchantress and Lycan continued to bother the entirety of Team Spirit as they farmed. They blocked camps, purged spells, and got vision in Team Spirit’s jungle. However, Team Spirit held their ground and were able to take a good fight around their second tier tower. They stomped the momentum of PSG.LGD and begin to turn the game around. From that point forward, Team Spirit was in the driver’s seat and never let their foot off the gas. A final push after getting the Aegis of the Immortal on an open Dire Ancient sealed the deal for Team Spirit.

One of the best underdog runs that DOTA 2 has ever seen ends with a shout of victory. Team Spirit are now the first CIS-based champions since Natus Vincere in the first International.
