Team Vitality add kAdavra and ShadoW to VALORANT roster

Team Vitality look to improve quick for 2022 with two new signings

Team Vitality have added both Thomas “kAdavra” Johner and Tobias “ShadoW” Flodström to their VALORANT roster the team announced Friday. After the departure of French player Théo “LoWkii” Téchené and Finnish player Jesse “JESMUND” Terävä, they now have their replacements. ShadoW is moving from his time on FunPlus Phoenix to start anew on Team Vitality.

kAdavra and ShadoW’s path to Team Vitality

With kAdavra, his competitive career began in late 2020 for Warthox but moved to Alliance in early 2021. This is the team he has played on for most in his VALORANT career, fighting to make it past the bigger teams in Europe. Alliance made it to multiple Challengers tournaments but never got past the quarterfinals, losing to Fnatic and Guild Esports in VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 2 competition. As a Duelist, his mark was made when he filled in as a substitute for Team Vitality at the VALORANT Open Tour: France – Fall Qualifier. They won the qualifier, and soon afterwards, made the signing official.

As for ShadoW, who also filled in as a substitute for that tournament, he has some top flight experience under his belt. Starting off in early 2020 on FABRIKEN, he moved to FunPlus Phoenix later that year. For FPX, he helped the team reach Europe’s Stage 1 Masters, where they lost in the semifinal to Acend. Afterwards, the best finish they got as a team was fourth place at the Stage 3 Challengers 1 tournament. ShadoW’s play on Breach and Sova was a focal point of the team, but FPX announced their decision to change up their 2022 roster after their final VCT tournament.

Team Vitality’s future

In adding kAdavra, Team Vitality reacquire a French player for their roster and a Duelist that can compete against top European teams. With ShadoW, they now have a proven talent that has helped his old team reach the top four spot in Europe more than Team Vitality has so far. Now, it is a matter of fitting in these new players into a roster that, while not performing well at the final Challengers tournament, has shown promise in the French Open Qualifier. Now, much like previous iterations of Team Vitality, the European tournaments will challenge this new roster in 2022.
