Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies recently became available on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) of League of Legends. The lead designer of Teamfight Tactics, Riot Mort, has released the patch notes for the first of many updates coming to the PBE. In this update to Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies, nine traits, 28 champions, and several game mechanics were updated. Besides this, the patch includes fixes for various bugs found by the community. Of particular note are the Sniper trait and adjustments to Miss Fortune.

Surprising changes to the Sniper trait

The community, so far, has tested quite a lot of different strategies available in the new set. Surprisingly, several of the buffs in this patch seem to contradict the community’s opinion on the strength of specific play styles.

The most notable buff to a trait is the increase in damage to the Sniper trait. The Sniper (2) trait grants its champions increased damage for every hexagon between the attacker and its target. The Sniper (2) buff is now 12% instead of 10% for every hexagon.

There are three Sniper champions, Caitlyn, Ashe, and Jhin. These Snipers are already among the most reliable carries available in the new set so far. The main counter to the various Sniper team comps that people tested so far was the Sorcerer (6) builds. However, Sorcerer (6) has been nerfed from 120% to 100% increased spell power. Because of this, the community expects that the Sniper teams will gain even more popularity within the meta.

An adjustment to Miss Fortune in Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies

The best champion in Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies so far has been Miss Fortune. Several different strategies quickly evolved around her due to her ability. For those unfamiliar, Miss Fortune’s ability deals a base of 99% of the target’s maximum health over 2.25 seconds. The damage she puts out means anything within the ability dies instantly.

On top of this, there was a bug affecting Miss Fortune, granting her twice the effect of spell power for her ability. Miss Fortune and Gangplank, as Mercenaries, have the option of purchasing upgrades for their ability. Miss Fortune mainly used two upgrade effects, one that made her ability deal true damage. The other drastically increased the size of her ability to cover almost the entire battlefield at the right angle.

In an attempt to reduce the strength of Miss Fortune, several of the Mercenary upgrades are updated. Besides this, the spell power bug no longer exists. The true damage upgrade is now a “more waves” upgrade, where the size increase is now only increasing around half of what it was before.

The March 6 update is expected around noon PST / 3 p.m. EST / 9 p.m. CEST. For more news about Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies, be sure to read all about the new Galaxies Pass.
