Get ready, Tekken fans: A new and rather interesting choice of character is about to be added to Tekken 7‘s roster. The Walking Dead‘s Negan was announced at EVO 2018 by Bandai Namco via the following trailer for upcoming Season 2 content.
It is funny to note that last year Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada dismissed the idea of adding Negan to the game via a statement made on his Twitter. How things have changed.
with "Lucille"? Haha nice idea.
He is a historic villain, but he is too weak as a fighter. IMORT@miranbikhan Negan from The Walking Dead

No pricing for Tekken 7‘s Season 2 pass has been confirmed as of writing, but you should be able to purchase him separately should you wish to terrorize your opponents in-game with Lucille. Other characters included in the reveal trailer are Anna Williams and Lei Wulong.
Although it is not a character I would expect to be added to Tekken, it seems Walking Dead fans will be all over this. It is nice to see that they did change their mind and add him, but whether or not he is a solid character choice remains to be seen. His baseball bat Lucille probably has a good swing radius, so that should do some deadly damage. We saw Fatal Fury‘s Geese Howard and Final Fantasy XV‘s Noctis in Season 1, so they do seem to be branching out.
What do you think of this latest addition to Tekken‘s cast of characters? Will you want to play as him? Let us know. Tekken 7 Season 2 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam soon. Stay tuned for information on Negan and Season 2 as it becomes available.
