Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has introduced the CARV.2 tactical rifle into multiplayer. As a remodel of the G11 from the original Black Ops, Treyarch made sure to keep the weapon’s overpowered nature in place. The CARV.2 has shaken up the meta in Season 3 and, pretty soon, most players will be strafing around the map with the new rifle.
Most add-on weapons in Black Ops Cold War have made an immediate impact on the game. However, the CARV.2 appears to be a different animal altogether. Tactical rifles are among the most dominant weapons in multiplayer; giving players yet another option in the class is a dangerous move.
The CARV.2’s recommended loadout definitely allows it to compete with the AUG and M16.
Best CARV.2 loadout in Black Ops Cold War
This new rifle in Black Ops Cold War is unlocked through either completing a challenge or buying a bundle in the store. Players can find the challenge by hovering over the weapon in the weapon class menu.
No matter which method a player unlocks the CARV.2 through, once they start using it, they’re not likely to equip another weapon. It features a faster fire rate than the AUG or M16 and has virtually no recoil. The CARV.2’s damage can also be boosted significantly with the right loadout.

Similar to the G11 in the original Black Op, the recommended scope is proficient in both medium and long-range. The Visiontech 2x doesn’t over zoom to make medium-range a problem and it can also hit enemies with ease at long-range.
The CARV.2’s recoil is further reduced with the Field Agent Foregrip, making it an absolute laser. Those accurate shots are made even more powerful with the 22.5″ Task Force barrel; which increases damage, range and bullet velocity.
The 45 Rnd Speed Mag offers more bullets and a faster reload, in exchange for a slower ADS time. That’s made up with the Airborne Elastic Wrap, however.
Treyarch may need to nerf the CARV.2 in a future update but, for now, it’s one of the best guns in Black Ops Cold War.
