In the recent Sept. 15 patch for Warzone, Raven Software gave a slight buff to the Black Ops Cold War AUG and its potential loadout. This buff was for one of the AUG’s overall stats and two of the gun’s most prized attachments. Raven decided to buff its recoil slightly and give two attachments a little boost in performance.

The Cold War AUG hasn’t seen much use since its downfall in early 2021. In Season 5 Reloaded, fans can try out the new and improved version of the AUG and its recommended loadout in Warzone.

Best Cold War AUG loadout in Warzone

In the patch notes, the Cold War AUG is referred to as “Tactical Rifle Charlie.” When players visit the patch notes, they can see the exact buffs for the AUG, which are as follows:

Tactical Rifle Charlie (BOCW)

  • Recoil decreased slightly
  • 18” Rapid Fire
    • Fire rate increased 5% ⇒ 6%
  • 17” Titanium
    • Fire rate increased 7% ⇒ 8%

The two attachments that were buffed are both barrels for the AUG. Each increases fire rate even more than they did previously. In the new recommended loadout for the Cold War AUG, one of these attachments is in use to give players the best chance of success in Warzone.

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer
  • Barrel: 18″ Rapid Fire
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd Drum

The 18″ Rapid Fire barrel is in place because it doesn’t have the negatives that the Titanium barrel carries. While the latter has a faster fire rate, the former doesn’t weigh the loadout down as much.

For the rest of the loadout, all of the attachments are standard for a rifle in Warzone. Recoil is lowered, shots are suppressed and bullets are increased in each clip. The Cold War AUG now looks to be a possible meta weapon in Season 5 Reloaded.
