Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone was released last week and introduced two new weapons: The EM2 assault rifle and the Tec-9 submachine gun. Both are unique in their own right, not conforming to most traditional weapon types. While the guns might get a little more attention in Warzone, they’re seemingly stronger in Cold War multiplayer. The loadouts for both weapons are powerful and this has led to players ranking up their Battle Pass quickly so they can unlock both of the guns.

The Tec-9 SMG is considered to be a little better for its weapon class but the EM2 is no slouch either. It possesses a terrific loadout that complements its recommended style of play and should net players some high kill games with it in hand.

Best EM2 loadout in Black Ops Cold War

Right off the bat, players will notice the EM2 isn’t a fastest-moving assault rifle in multiplayer. It comes up extremely slow and isn’t meant to be rushed around with. Think of it as a toned-down version of a tactical rifle.

With this in mind, players should utilize the EM2 at medium to long range. This is evident by its recommended loadout in Cold War.

  • Muzzle: SOCOM Eliminator
  • Barrel: 26.3″ Takedown
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Magazine: 30 Rnd

As players can see, there are no mobility-boosting attachments in use on the loadout. Instead, attachments to help reduce recoil are equipped. The SOCOM Eliminator and Field Agent Grip both accomplish this. The Axial Arms 3x scope is possibly too much zoom for some players but it’s great for longer-range gunfights. If players want to use the EM2 a little closer to enemies, they can go with a 2x scope.

The last two attachments on the loadout is the 26.3″ Takedown barrel, which increases damage range by 150%, and the 30 Rnd for some extra bullets. This EM2 loadout is a dominant choice in Cold War as long as players use it correctly.
