Even though there’s no dedicated ranked playlist in Call of Duty: Vanguard, that hasn’t stopped some players’ competitive itch. Using third-party websites like MLG, professional players and others have mixed to hold various tournaments.

These tournaments use the competitive ruleset straight from the Call of Duty League. However, knowing the ruleset is only half the battle, as players also need a solid competitive loadout for their tournaments in Vanguard.

While public match classes could work for some players, there are certain, banned attachments within the CDL ruleset. This changes how players approach designing their loadouts. Also, there’s some confusion on which weapons to use, as three guns are currently battling for meta control. This article will give players a professionally-approved competitive loadout that’s currently being players like Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson in Vanguard.

Best loadout for competitive in Vanguard

Since a majority of the current competitive maps are medium sized, the recommended loadout features an assault rifle. The rifle in question is the STG44, as it’s more user-friendly than the Automaton, the other meta AR. If players want to see the best Automaton loadout, though, Upcomer’s guide has it covered.

For players who want to dominate competitive matches with the STG44, here’s what to use.

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: VDD 760MM 05B
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: VDD 34S Weighted
  • Underbarrel: M3 Ready Grip
  • Magazine: .30 Russian Short 30 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Vital
  • Kit: On-Hand

This STG44 loadout focuses on recoil control, bullet velocity and stability above all else. Mobility isn’t as important for the gun in competitive situations, and the STG44 already has terrific damage range. However, using the Vital Proficiency is perhaps the most important attachment on this loadout. According to YouTuber XclusiveAce, this Proficiency can make a weapon kill an enemy in two shots if players aim for the upper body.

The rest of the loadout focuses on recoil control and stability. Players will be able to laser-beam opponents across any map with this STG44 and make their competitive life much simpler in Vanguard.
