The best weapon combination for Apex Legends Season 4

Respawn decided to shake things up in a big way for Apex Legends Season 4. There’s a new map, new legend, and new weapon changes, as the update altered the overall meta. There’s also the new Sentinel sniper, which is fairly enjoyable to use if you charge a shield battery with it. However, as with any season, there seems to be a dominant pairing right out of the gate. Today, we’ll be going over the best weapons to use in Apex Legends Season 4.

Which weapons should you pick up in Season 4?

Though Season 4 changed a lot of the weapons in Apex Legends, there are still the tried and true weapons of previous seasons. Guns like the R301, R99, Havoc, and Longbow DMR are all viable for most situations. However, two weapons were changed with the Season 4 update that make for a deadly pair.

The L-Star is the first of these weapons. In the Season 4 update, Respawn made the L-Star available in the pool of floor loot. This is a big change from the previous seasons, where the L-Star was a supply crate-only weapon. Respawn also updated the L-Star’s firing capability – you never have to reload now, but the weapon can overheat from sustained fire.

While its damage was slightly nerfed, the L-Star still packs a punch if you’re accurate. Not having to reload is a huge advantage when in a close engagement gunfight. So, if you do pick up the L-Star, pick fights that are at a short-medium range.

However, if you’re fighting at long distances, try to have a Wingman on you at all times. The Season 4 update increased the Wingman’s base magazine capacity slightly while not touching its damage or recoil. Essentially, if you were good with the Wingman in previous seasons, you’ll be fine in Apex Season 4.

Pairing the L-Star and Wingman together ensures you have a weapon for all types of gunfights. The L-Star can demolish people up close, while the Wingman is as accurate as ever from long-range. And if you’re not that great with the Wingman, try picking up a Prowler. Respawn increased the Prowler’s base damage with yesterday’s update.
