The best weapons to use in Apex Legends Ranked Play on Kings Canyon

For fans of Ranked Play in Apex Legends, the second split of Season 4 is now live for all systems. Ranked Series 3 is changing things up a bit, as there’s a soft rank reset midway through the season. Also, Kings Canyon is returning to the fold for the remainder of the split, which is set to end on May 5. With a new map comes different challenges and opportunities for competitive players in Apex Legends. So, let’s take a look at some of the weapons you should be picking up in Ranked Play.

1. Wingman

The tried and true versatility of the Wingman remains even in Season 4. One of the most dominant weapons since the beginning of Apex Legends, the Wingman pistol may not be what it used to be, but you should still consider equipping it whenever you see a chance to.

Of course, the skill gap is fairly large with this particular weapon. It deals 47 base damage to the body, but it’s not too easy to land those shots. If you’re someone who struggles with the Wingman, maybe you should equip the next weapon on our list.

2. Havoc

This may shock some longtime players out there, as the Havoc assault rifle isn’t known for being one of the top weapons. However, in Season 4 of Apex Legends, it can singlehandedly win you matches in both casual and Ranked Play. The best part about the energy weapon is it can be effective at all ranges on Kings Canyon, provided you’re accurate.

We recommend using the Havoc with a 2X HCOG Bruiser scope, as this gives you equal chances to hit shots at short and long range. If you can hit your shots, the Havoc will put enemies down faster than you can blink.

3. Prowler

If you’ve been playing any Apex Legends this past season, then you know how dominant the Prowler can be. Dealing more damage per second than the R99 submachine gun, the Prowler can be considered the top in its respective class.

However, in order to make the Prowler fully effective, you’ll probably need to find the Selectfire Receiver hop-up. Unfortunately, this requires sheer luck, which is why the Prowler isn’t first on our list. Even if you can’t find the attachment though, this SMG is still one of your best options.

4. Peacekeeper

The glory days for the Peacekeeper shotgun are certainly behind it, but that doesn’t mean you can’t rely on the weapon. Kings Canyon is full of narrow corridors and tight spaces, which is where the Peacekeeper really shines. World’s Edge doesn’t really provide the layout for the Peacekeeper to succeed.

Considered by many to be the best shotgun in Apex Legends, the Peacekeeper is a solid choice as your secondary weapon. Just remember to aim for the chest and head or you’ll deal low damage.

And there you have it — those are our picks for the best weapons to use in the second split of Ranked Series 3. Make sure to keep up with Daily Esports for all Apex Legends news.
