The Fortnite v10.10 update nerfs B.R.U.T.E. spawns, revives Retail Row

After a one-day delay, the Fortnite v10.10 update is now available for download on all systems. This is a much-anticipated update – as they all are in Season X, due to how broken the game currently is. Bugs, glitches, and the B.R.U.T.E. all make updates that much more important.

It appears Epic Games is starting to listen to their community more and more. Not only did they fix a plethora of bugs, but they also applied a nerf to their beloved B.R.U.T.E. Let’s hop into the v10.10 patch notes and see everything that changed.

The B.R.U.T.E. won’t spawn in nearly as much

While the major problem with the B.R.U.T.E. is still its unbalanced nature, this issue was amplified by how many there were on the map. There would always be at least 4-6 Mechs on the map at any given time (assuming they weren’t destroyed).

However, with the v10.10 update, the B.R.U.T.E. got a significant spawn decrease. They will now spawn occasionally throughout a match, but the percentages of one spawning have been lowered by a large margin.

There will be far fewer B.R.U.T.E.s on the map with the v10.10 update

Here are the official spawn rates for the B.R.U.T.E. in each storm.

  • Beginning of Match
    • 21.5% chance that between 1-3 B.R.U.T.Es will spawn
      • Previously was 100% chance that between 2-4 B.R.U.T.Es would spawn
  • Storm 1
    • 44% chance that between 1-4 B.R.U.T.Es will spawn
      • Previously was 100% chance that between 2-4 B.R.U.T.Es would spawn
  • Storm 2
    • 40% chance that between 1-2 B.R.U.T.Es will spawn
      • Previously was 100% chance that between 1-3 B.R.U.T.Es would spawn
  • Storm 3
    • 40% chance that between 1-2 B.R.U.T.Es will spawn
      • Previously was 66% chance that 2 B.R.U.T.Es would spawn
  • Storm 4
    • 10% chance that 1 B.R.U.T.E will spawn
      • Previously was 50% chance that 1 B.R.U.T.E would spawn
  • Storm 5
    • 3% chance that 1 B.R.U.T.E will spawn
      • Previously was 10% chance that 1 B.R.U.T.E would spawn

With this update, there should be fewer B.R.U.T.E.s on the map than before. This doesn’t fix the vehicle as a whole, but it should make it less annoying.

Retail Row is back, but with zombies

The Mega Mall makeover is complete, and Retail Row has returned to Fortnite. However, it’s not the same Retail we all know and love. Thanks to the Rift Zone, there are now zombies inhabiting the streets and businesses of this POI.

Just like the fiends from Fortnitemares, these zombies can break structures, drop rewards when killed, and cannot leave the Rift Zone. While the zombies may seem irritating, at least you can build and harvest materials.

Those are the biggest things from the Fortnite v10.10 update. Make sure to check out the full patch notes to see all the little details that changed too! And keep up with Daily Esports for all Fortnite Season X coverage.
