The internet reacts to Breach picks on VALORANT Champions Day 1

This agent goes from rarely picked to consistent choice in the first day

To the surprise of many, Breach has made several appearances on the first day of VALORANT Champions  on Wednesday. While a niche pick, the first two matches both saw a fair amount of this agent.

Breach’s Champions debut

Breach’s usage since his release has been limited at best. But, coming into Champions, there were specific teams and players that were confident in their play. For example, the first usage of Breach in Champions was by Vision Strikers captain Kim “stax” Gu-taek in a map win against Full Sense during their Day 1 match. On the first map, Haven, stax pulled out Breach, the agent that he believes that he’s the best in the world at. Along the way to this victory, the VALORANT community saw him build ultimates quickly and help lead his team to an overall match win.

Not too long afterwards in the second match of the day between Team Vikings and Crazy Raccoon Breach came back. This time, both Team Vikings player Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi and Crazy Raccoon player Yusuke “neth” Matsuda ran Breach against each other on Haven. Even more interestingly, both neth and Sacy had no professional games playing Breach before this. Alas, Sacy continued his strong form from the first map into the second and won that matchup, along with the match.

In the final match of the first day, on Split, Cloud9 player Son “xeta” Seon-ho also pulled out the Breach, winning a close map to even the series. This means every series on the first day had a Breach played.

After C9 won that map, both teams ran Breach on VALORANT’s new map, Fracture. Xeta stayed on Breach, while Domagoj “Doma” Fancev played Breach for the first time professionally for Fnatic. This means five out of six teams played Breach on day one, with Fnatic winning the final game of the day running him.

Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt, Acend player

“What can you do when the enemy Breach got four ults in 8 rounds?” zeek said.

Sean “sgares” Gares, analyst and caster

“Stax is currently writing the book on how to play Breach on Haven. God tier fault lines, flashes, postplant aftershocks, ults, et cetera,” sgares said.

Team Vikings’ official Twitter account

“Who said anything about Breach?” Team Vikings said through a machine translation.

Geo “Geo” Collins, caster

“At Masters 3, I felt like I never shut up about how much I loved Breach players and stax is kicking off Champions with proof as to why,” Geo said.

Mimi “aEvilcat” Wermcrantz, caster

“KOREAN BREACH TIME, LET’S GOOOO XETA,” aEvilcat said.
