Among the new features that Sledgehammer Games introduced in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the MVP voting screen might be the most disliked. While it’s a good idea in theory, players are growing more disgruntled with how long it takes to complete. After a match finishes, players have to sit through both the Play of the Game and then 15-20 seconds of MVP voting, with the only reward for voting being a negligible amount of XP.

Players like YouTuber JGOD have actually timed the entire process after a match finishes, compared to simply leaving a match after it ends. The results are staggering and prove that players are wasting several minutes for every match they play in a day. As a result, members of the community are asking Sledgehammer Games to change how the MVP voting works in Vanguard multiplayer.

Vanguard players aren’t thrilled with the MVP voting process

As of right now, it takes around an extra minute or so to sit through the Play of the Game and MVP voting in multiplayer. Comparatively, it takes a handful of seconds to forego the entire process and just leave the match after it concludes. While this means players lose their Match Bonus XP, it’s a worthwhile tradeoff in the eyes of many players, especially those who have popped a Double XP Token.

A recent Reddit post garnered over 1,000 upvotes on the CODVanguard Subreddit detailing their frustrations with the MVP system. They called the process “worthless” since the nominees for MVP are often not those who contributed most to the match. They tried to give Sledgehammer a version of the system that makes sense, saying “Just auto-select the top three players for their contribution to the objective, their overall score and their E.D. Ratio and let us choose between those three.”

They finished their post by saying the Play of the Game and MVP voting takes too long and “kills the pacing between matches.” Other players echoed this Redditor’s opinions, with one user even offering a neat solution to make the time spent in the process more productive: “I’d be fine if we could edit loadouts during this time.” This would allow players to see new attachments and camos they unlocked and give more reason to stay for the MVP voting.

In any case, Sledgehammer has already reduced the time of the process once, so perhaps they could make other changes in the future.
