At long last, the official Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer has been revealed. It was quite the journey to get to this point, but players were finally treated to the first look at the game. Revealed through a mini-Easter egg hunt in Warzone, the leadup to the trailer was exhilarating. As soon as you completed the necessary steps, you were told to immediately rush to the Stadium. As this was happening, part of the trailer played in the background with some epic music blasting over the speakers.

The Black Ops Cold War trailer

As predicted, this is only the trailer for the Campaign mode of Black Ops Cold War. The multiplayer trailer will release on September 9 and will likely be more than just a simple trailer. There’s a high possibility of actual gameplay demonstrations along with the video.

With our new trailer though, we were able to see the game in all of its glory for the first time. While it was a cinematic look, the trailer was stunning. The graphics, character models, and action pieces were unlike anything we’ve seen before.

In the trailer, we could see multiple different aspects of the campaign. The story behind the mode appears to be American agents hunting down a Soviet Union spy named Perseus. President Ronald Reagan, who looks outstanding, tasks someone named Mr. Atler to bring down this agent who’s hiding somewhere on U.S. soil.

The campaign takes place mainly in the U.S., but it does flashback to Vietnam in one Mission. That Mission is said to be one of the most unique in Call of Duty history. In terms of other details, you’ll be able to create your own character for the campaign for the first time ever. Also, each Mission can be done in a variety of different ways, which is a great change of pace.

The next step for Black Ops Cold War is the multiplayer reveal on September 9. After that, an open beta should go live later in the month. You can pre-order one of three editions of BOCW for early access to the open beta. PlayStation is once again on an exclusivity deal with Activision, so PS4 users will get access first.

The trailer, the event in Warzone, the Easter egg hunt, and everything else led up to now created one of the best experiences in Call of Duty history. Make sure to stay tuned to Daily Esports for all Black Ops Cold War news.
