The Overwatch League (OWL) Summer Showdown is next weekend. This will see teams competing against one another in two separate brackets, each with a $275,000 prize pool. Here’s what the brackets look like and when and where you can catch the action live.
The North America bracket will have twelve teams. The top four seeds will get a bye for the first round, while the bottom eight seeds will play against each other for a chance to advance to the quarterfinals. Here’s what the North America Summer Showdown bracket looks like:
The knockout round for North America begins on Friday, July 3 at 3:00 p.m. ET when the Dallas Fuel face the Paris Eternal. The other games will follow, with two hours between each. First, the Houston Outlaws will play against the Florida Mayhem at 5:00, then the Toronto Defiant will face the Los Angeles Valiant at 7:00, and finally, the Washington Justice will battle the Los Angeles Gladiators at 9:00.
The winners in the knockout stage will go on to play against the top four seeds in the quarterfinals on July 4. The semi-finals and the finals will feature the quarterfinal winners duking it out on July 5.
The Asia bracket is a lot smaller, with only seven teams. The first round is the quarterfinals, and the number one seed, the Shanghai Dragons, will get a bye. Here’s what the Summer Showdown Asia bracket looks like:
The Asia bracket begins on July 4 at 4:00 a.m. ET. Just like with the North America bracket, games will be scheduled every two hours. The semi-finals and finals will begin at 4:00 a.m. on July 5.
The prize pool is the same in both North America and Asia. The winner of each Summer Showdown bracket will get $50,000, the second-place team will get $25,000, and the third and fourth place teams will get $10,000.
There will be no Hero Pools during the tournament, so players will be able to play any Hero they want. Make sure to check out the official OWL YouTube channel to watch games live. If you can’t catch the games live, you can always watch them later.
