The characters in Apex Legends all have their own unique charm and allure to them. Some are flashy in the way they move around the battlefield, and others are more fun to listen to when interacting with teammates. However, while all are viable to a point, there are some Legends that are simply better than others. Wraith, Pathfinder, and Wattson probably top the list of viability, with Mirage and perhaps Crypto sitting at the bottom. Though, a fan on Reddit offers an idea to buff Mirage’s decoy ability to improve the character’s usefulness.
Concept to buff Mirage in Apex Legends
Since the game’s release right around a year ago, Mirage has been one of the least-used Legends. This is half in part to Wraith and Pathfinder being used by popular streamers, making them more used among the community. Though, Mirage’s abilities are still underwhelming compared to the rest of the field.
The ego-centric Legend’s passive ability, Encore, is quite useless unless you plan on going down a lot. His ultimate, Vanishing Act, can be effective, but you don’t earn it too often. Lastly, his tactical ability, Psyche Out, is where a buff could come into play.
Psyche Out has you send out a decoy to a designated spot on the map. However, it’s quite easy to tell the decoy apart from the actual Mirage when the decoy runs in a straight line. So, Lucas_Cant_Take_It has the idea to just take that tactical ability and multiply the decoys, to perhaps four of them.
Mirage Buff Idea. Maybe he should be able to create a couple decoys at once? it would be a lot harder to figure out which one is the real one if there is 4 mirages running around. from apexlegends
Adding more decoys to Mirage’s tactical ability would make the Legend far more viable. Of course, buffing this ability would require Respawn to increase the cooldown timer on the ability and change up the way his ultimate ability works. However, a buff of this nature would make people think twice when choosing a Legend besides Mirage.
