Big Throne of Eldraine Preview Cards

Robber of the Rich: This card is a pretty obvious nod to Robin Hood and has some super interesting text on it! Being able to steal cards from your opponent is great, but this card could really shine in a Rogue tribal deck. Maybe we’ll see one in Standard?

Kenrith, the Retuned King: Father of the Kenrith Twins, the King is 100% made for EDH and Brawl. His 5-color identity will allow for 5-color decks in those formats! He also seems great at playing politics in multiplayer games.

Additional Eldrain Spoilers

Of course, more than just those two were spoiled today. Let’s take a look at all the other MTG Arena cards we saw spoiled.

Worthy Knight, MTG Arena, spoilers Clackbridge Troll Skullknocker Ogre, MTG Arena, Throne of Eldraine Weaselback Redcap Feasting Troll King, Throne of Eldraine Wildborn Preserver, Simic Flash, Flash Lochemere Serpent, MTG arena, Eldraine Outlaws Merriment, MTG, Arena, Eldraine Roving Keep Charming Prince Claim the firstborn, MTG Arena, Eldraine Searing Barrage, MTG Arena, Eldraine Syr Carah, MTG Arena Hypnotic Sprite, Spoilers, Throne of Eldraine

Whew, there’s a lot to unpack here! Let’s take a look at a couple of these new cards in more detail:

  • Clackbridge Troll: This 5 mana 8/8 with Trample is basically an upgraded Desecration Demon. You may be able to hold it back for a few turns, but every time you sac a creature to it, your opponent will be drawing cards and gaining life. If this thing doesn’t get removed, you’re in for a world of hurt!
  • Wildborn Preserver: Simic Flash is a deck that will be losing a fair number of its cards at rotation. This can easily go in, and it may even be good in the deck!
  • Hypnotic Sprite: While this card may seem bad, it’s a lot better if you look at it as a counterspell that always draws you a 2/1 flier. Not too terrible, huh?
