Chinese esports organization Top Esports has announced the signing of former Royal Never Give Up jungler Hung “Karsa” Hau-Hsuan. Formerly named Topsports Gaming, the team finished in 2nd during the 2019 Tencent League of Legends Pro League (LPL) Summer Split. However, the roster was eliminated by Invictus Gaming during its regional finals run for a 2019 World Championship slot.

Karsa will share jungler role

The Taiwanese player will share his jungler position with Xiong “Xx” Yu-Long, alongside other strong players on Top Esports who have shown great performance in the LPL. On the other hand, Karsa’s previous team in Royal Never Give Up had a disappointing early 2019 season. The team seemed to have solved their problems in the Summer Split. However, this wasn’t enough for them as they were eliminated in the Groups Stage and finished 9 – 12th at the 2019 World Championships.

Other players on the Top Esports roster include top laner Bai “369” Jia-Hao, mid laner Zhuo “Knight9” Ding, AD carry Lee “LokeN” Dong-wook, and support Nam “Ben” Dong-hyun. Substitute top laner Xiong “Moyu” Hui-Dong and substitute jungler Mao “AKi” An will also help out. The 2019 offseason saw the departure of support player Zhang “QiuQiu” Ming, the addition of assistant coach Zhou “BYG” Tai-Jie, and the return of assistant coach Yu “Ggoong” Byeong-jun.

Top Esports in 2020 LPL

Top Esports may not be as well known of a name as teams like Invictus Gaming, Royal Never Give Up, and EDward Gaming in the West. However, the organization finished the 2019 LPL Summer Split in 2nd place, with 12 wins and 3 losses. It was even a prime contender for the Summer Split Playoffs but ended up falling short to Bilibili Gaming.

With Invictus Gaming in 2018 and FunPlus Phoenix’s 2019 World Championship win, a lot more eyes have been on the LPL scene. Can Karsa help Top Esports fix its previous errors during the Summer Split and advance to the Worlds Championships in 2020 for the organization’s first appearance?
