Top players fight for the crown in Hearthstone Grandmasters playoffs

Posesi, Surrender, Jarla, Frenetic, Rami94 and muzzy were victorious.

The top Group A regional players of the Hearthstone Grandmasters playoffs were determined after a full day of matches.

The Hearthstone Grandmasters Season 1 playoffs consists of the top eight players from the regular season. It also uses the Conquest format, where the competitors bring four decks and four unique Hearthstone classes to battle. Each player bans one deck from their opponent.

Posesi and Surrender reach the top

Ishibashi “posesi” Wataru and Kim “Surrender” Jung-soo earned a place in the top four playoffs for Hearthstone Grandmasters Asia-Pacific.

To reach the top, posesi went up against Sato “glory” Kenta in the upper bracket. Using his Miracle Rogue, OTK Demon Hunter and Rush Warrior decks, posesi bested his opponent 3-1.

Meanwhile, Surrender swept Chiang “Alan870806” Shih-Hsun 3-0 with the help of Miracle Rogue, Rush Warrior and Control Priest.

After facing glory in the lower bracket, he achieved a score of 3-1 thanks to OTK Demon Hunter, Rush Warrior and Miracle Rogue.

Hearthstone Grandmasters Europe

As for Hearthstone Grandmasters Europe, Jaromír “Jarla” Vyskočil and David Neila “Frenetic” Quiñones were victorious in the region.

In the upper bracket, Jarla went up against Elias “Bozzzton” Sibelius and earned a 3-2 score. Although Bozzzton won the first two games against Jarla’s Control Warlock deck, the latter player completed a reverse sweep using Spell Mage, Control Warlock and Control Warrior.

Over in the elimination bracket, Frenetic went 3-1 against Enzo “Warma” Floch. His winning decks included Miracle Rogue, Face Hunter and Token Druid.

When Frenetic fought Bozzzton, he went 3-1 with the aid of his OTK Demon Hunter, Miracle Rogue and Token Druid decks.

Hearthstone Grandmasters Americas

As for the Americas, Ramiro “Rami94” Ponce and Muzahidul “muzzy” Islam closed the day.

In the initial matches, Rami94 duked it out against Eddie “Eddie” Lui and won 3-2 using Rush Warrior, Spell Mage and Miracle Rogue.

This meant he faced Luke “NoHandsGamer” Kooken in the next matchup, going 3-1 and pushing the latter player into the lower bracket. Rami94’s winning decks were Spell Mage, Rush Warrior and Control Priest.

Next, muzzy achieved a score of 3-2 against Eddie in the lower bracket. Muzzy came out on top thanks to Rush Warrior, Spell Mage and Secret Libram Paladin.

He then faced NoHandsGamer and bested his opponent 3-2 using his Spell Mage, Control Priest and Secret Libram Paladin decks.

Forged in the Barrens card packs

Hearthstone fans who watched the live broadcast were able to earn up to two Forged in the Barrens card packs through YouTube drops. Viewers had to watch two hours for one pack and two more hours for another pack.

For those who missed out on the first day of live broadcasts, they can still get rewards throughout the weekend because the time watched is cumulative.

In order to receive rewards, viewers must link their Battle.net and YouTube accounts by visiting the Settings section. They must then click the “Connected apps” tab and press the “Connect” button located beside Battle.net.
