TSM allowing AD carry Zven to explore options for 2020

Team SoloMid (TSM) has allowed AD carry Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen to explore options for the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) season. While his contract with the North American esports organization is still active, Zven feels like he has “accomplished absolutely nothing” in the past two years and wants a change.

Zven considers new team

“I felt like in two full years, I accomplished absolutely nothing. You have all these expectations about how you’re gonna be the first player to win both EU and NA LCS,” said Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, in a reflection on social media. “… [and] how you’re gonna get your team out of groups – just to inevitably be the one to screw it up for your team when it matters the most in game five of the one final you just barely qualified for and then not even make it to Worlds either year. The disappointment of not meeting expectations is the worst feeling.”

Zven touched on the fact that he had many regrets for his previous performance, but that most of it has helped with his “personal growth.” TSM hasn’t been able to make it to the World Championships two years in a row, along with missing the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational. The team also has not achieved a 1st place finish in either the Spring or Summer Splits since 2017, shortly before he joined.

TSM’s recent performance

The lackluster results during the past few seasons are very apparent to the Danish player. Zven previously placed 3 – 4th at the 2015 World Championships while playing for Origen, with numerous 1st place placements in the EU LCS while on G2 Esports as well. He mentioned that he has been talking to teams in both the European and North American scene, and he thinks a future reveal in the works “will come as a surprise to many.”

Former TSM coach Tony “Zikz” Gray left for a head coach role with North American esports organization 100 Thieves on Nov. 11. There are many rumors going around about roster changes for almost every organization in the LCS, except for Team Liquid. Will TSM be able to make it to Worlds next year?
