Saturday’s LCS game was an intense match between Team Liquid and TSM. Although TL tried their hardest to fight for victory, TSM was in the right position to win 3-2 against their rival.

TSM dominated the first game as they did more overall damage and earned more gold than TL. Unfortunately, TL lost sight of the main objectives as TSM ended up earning four dragons, one Elder Dragon, and one Baron. Additionally, TSM’s famed mid-laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg led the team in team fights with his main champion Syndra. Their jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu also contributed to the team’s success with an 82% kill participation. Seeing that TSM had better scores than TL, it was hard to believe they could lose the following game.

Over the next two games, TSM fell apart, and TL dominated the rift. TL learned from their mistakes and captured 9 more towers than TSM. They also earned three dragons and had an almost ten thousand gold difference compared to their rival. Although TSM tried to put up a fight, TL’s amount of teamwork and focus couldn’t have been beaten. Both teams went through the same thing for the third game, and TL pushed for kills and towers.

The fourth game was completely in favor of TSM, as both teams played a game of tug-of-war. TL earned two barons as TSM stole the third one. Although they were almost evened out in objectives, TSM still had a gold and kill lead. TSM’s AD Carry Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng took the spotlight, as he ended the game with eleven kills and only one death.

An intense fifth game for TSM

Onto game five, TL led the game until the 30-minute mark. The later the game, the tougher the team fights. TSM pushed towards victory as they overtook dragons, Barons, and captured the Cloud Soul by the 40-minute mark. Doublelift once again ended the game in a nearly-perfect score, as the team quickly gained a higher gold count right before their win. At the end of the game, Bjergsen won the Player of the Series.

TSM’s win means they will move on to the Worlds Group Stage, while TL is placed in Play Ins. FlyQuest and TSM are now the LCS Summer Split Grand Finalists, and they’ll face off for Finals on Sunday at 4 PM ET. Fans can catch the live game on the official lolesports website.
