Twitch Rivals announced its next big online esports competition on Friday, the Valorant Series 1, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6:00 p.m. EDT.

The Twitch Rivals Valorant Series 1 will feature 40 different content creators facing off in Valorant matches. The content creators will have to form teams of five players each, making eight teams in total. The tournament will take place on three separate dates, with the group stage on Feb. 24, the Quarterfinals on March 3 and the finals on March 10.

Currently, there is no word on who will be competing in the tournament or what the teams will look like.

This will be the second Twitch Rivals Valorant event. Twitch hosted a launch tournament back in June of 2020 when the game first released. Sixteen teams from eight different regions competed until the top teams from each region advanced to the finals. Team Brax won against Team Myth.

The top two teams of the first Twitch Rivals Valorant tournament both went on to become professional Valorant teams. Team Brax became T1 and Team Myth became TSM. While T1 has since broken up, TSM is still going strong in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT).

This time around, the Twitch Rivals tournament will feature less professional talent, as the pros are off competing in the VCT. Be sure to stay tuned to Daily Esports to keep up  on all the latest Twitch Rivals and Valorant coverage.
