Once you’ve purchased your ticket, be sure to connect it to your Twitch account for a special badge. Badges are identified as follows: community, affiliate, and partner. Of course, this is directly related to your activity on Twitch as most will receive the community badge. However, each badge comes with a set of perks. Check out the TwitchCon 2018 site to see what you’re in for. Regardless, everyone will have access to the expo, meet-and-greets, a swag bag, and a lot more.

TwitchCon Activities

So what exactly can one expect from a con focused on one of the largest streaming platforms on the market? Just like any large con, there are plenty of activities to partake in. There will be an artist alley filled to the brim with, you guessed it, artists. Be sure to set aside extra spending money if you’re interested in purchasing artwork. All of your favorite streamers will be available for meet and greets. The listing of streamers is massive so you can check that out here to see if your favorites will be attending the con.

The cosplay contest is returning again this year with a $70,000 prize pool. The grand prize is $15,000 and winners of individual categories will receive $4,000. The four categories being judged are Needlework, Armor, Larger Than Life, and FX. If you’re a serious cosplay competitor, TwitchCon will offer travel stipends for finalists to assist with the costs of transporting large costume pieces. For the first time ever, the contest is open to cosplayers in Canada (excluding Quebec).

TwitchCon Gaming and Streaming

GDQ (Games Done Quick) will be hosting a 50-hour speedrunning marathon benefiting various charities. The games that will be featured will be announced July 28th. If you are interested in participating, applications for submission will be available from July 8th-14th. So sign up, go out there, and show everyone what you’re made of. And, of course, there will be an esports stage running all weekend where competitors can compete for glory. There is no official word, yet, on what gaming competitions will take place. And, if you’re an aspiring streamer be sure to check out the various sessions that will cover topics of all varieties focused on dedicated streamers such as how to go about obtaining patrons. Furthermore, the Streamer Program enables streamers to connect with exhibitors and make connections. This is surely the place to be for aspiring gaming streamers.
