Two new items come to League of Legends in Patch 11.13: Hullbreaker and Anathema’s Chains

These new items for AD split pushers and tanks will be live staring June 23

Riot Games is set to release two new items in League of Legends Patch 11.13: Hullbreaker and Anathema’s Chains. Already, Riot has revealed details on what these items will do in-game as well as their price. Both items previewed on the PBE earlier this month. While Hullbreaker will serve the needs of attack damage split pushers, Anathema’s Chains is a tank item. Riot teased the coming of these new items in their developer blog.

The Hullbreaker item went live on the PBE on June 10. This broader item is a direct replacement to the Sanguine Blade for attack damage split pushers. Sanguine Blade is not really a popular item among player so its replacement makes sense. Even though Hullbreaker will replace Sanguine Blade, it is a legendary item and not a mythic one. Hullbreaker will cost 2800 gold with a 50% attack damage buff and 400 health. It also comes with 150% base health regeneration.

Aside from these features, the item has a passive known as “Boarding Party.” This allows players to gain 20 to 45 magic resist and bonus armor with 20% increased damage to towers if no allied champion is close. Moreover, any large minions close to players with the item gain 60 to 13 armor and magic resist. The large minions also deal 200% increased damage to towers.

Minions with the Hullbreaker buff are differentiated with a hat on their head. This item will be good for split pushing champions to quickly take down towers and creating more map pressure for their team.

Anathema’s Chains is a new tank item already introduced to the League of Legends PBE. The item provides 650 health with 20 ability haste. It’s active allows players to chose a “nemesis”  to start building a vendetta with over 60 seconds. This period will see such a player take up to 30% less damage from the champion targeted as a nemesis. Also, when near a nemesis they have 20% less tenacity.

However, players can’t select a new nemesis when active in-game except when they die. Players can select a new nemesis but lose all vendetta stacks already built up in doing so. This active comes with a 90-second cooldown. Just like Hullbreaker, this item is also categorized as legendary. Additionally, players can buy the item for 2,500 gold in the shop.

League of Legends’ Lead Game Designer, Jeevun Sidhu stated the item has two sharp outputs. These outputs include anti-split push strategy and a counter to single-threat teams. With its strong defensive passive and tenacity reducer, the item may become a go-to for engage supports.

Hullbreaker and Anathema’s Chains will go live on League of Legends Patch 11.13 scheduled for release on June 23
