Tyler1 officially parts ways with T1

T1's journey with T1 has come to a mutual end

T1 announced today that popular Twitch streamer and entertainer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp would be parting ways with the storied organization after nearly two years with the team.

“We’d like to thank Tyler1 for being a part of the T1 family,” T1 said. “We are thankful for the time you’ve spent here and all the memories made. We will continue to watch your growth and we know you’ll continue to shine!”

Tyler1 first signed with T1 on Oct. 17, 2020, right in the middle of the 2020 World Championship. To this day, T1 is the only esports organization the streamer has ever signed with. Since joining T1, Tyler1 gained more than 1 million followers on Twitch. On his stream today, he confirmed that the parting was mutual and not because of any bad blood.

“So we are officially off T1, Tyler1 said. “Sad day guys — sad day. There was no reason specifically…it was not because of a brand risk.”

Known for his bombastic personality, the Tyler1 Championship Series tournaments and for reaching Challenger playing every role aside from support on the North American League of Legends server, Tyler1 has been a part of a wide variety of T1 content since joining the organization.

In 2021, Tyler1 collaborated with Twitch Rivals to put on a virtual power meet, where professional weightlifters of varying weight classes competed against one another pulling off different lifts for points. The event was the first of its kind and was even renewed by Twitch for multiple future iterations. At the meet, Tyler1 broke his previous personal record for deadlifting by lifting 550-pounds.

Now that he won’t have League of Legends great Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok on speed dial anymore, it’s uncertain where Tyler1’s next home will be — or if he’ll sign with another organization at all. For now, the streamer is currently working to reach Challenger in the support role to complete his multi-role Challenger run.
