Riot Games’ popular FPS Valorant may be coming to iOS and Android soon, according to the latest 1.08 patch. Per SkillCapped on Twitter, there was a string of mobile UI code found in the game’s files. This isn’t the first time Valorant has been teased to be coming to iOS and Android. When Valorant’s beta was first released in April, fans began searching for upcoming forms for the game.

Just last week it was revealed that a console version of Valorant was still in the works. This format along with mobile has been teased since the beta. Riot Games even admitted to being open to exploring other platforms in the future at the beginning of April.

Valorant dataminers found this string of code that reads as follows: “action to perform when double-tapping on right side of the screen.” This strongly suggests that Riot Games is at least playing with the idea of a handheld release for the game. Furthermore, if Valorant comes to iOS and Android, that would mean that a console release should be in the future.

Would Valorant on mobile work?

Multiple popular shooting titles have made the transition from PC to other platforms like console and mobile. Fortnite is one of the biggest titles to make the move from PC to mobile with over 6 million downloads. Another big-name title that made the switch from PC to primarily mobile was PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The multiplayer battle royale moved to mobile and even changed their name to add mobile in the title.

Valorant mobile

Each of these popular shooter titles has flourished on mobile with millions of downloads. With the mobile industry on the rise, it would a great investment for Valorant. The game has already reached popularity in multiple different countries and it would only continue to grow on mobile. Riot Games have shown great interest in different platforms, which allows mobile fans to keep hope.
