After weeks of rumors and speculation, the next expansion team in the Overwatch League is revealing itself. The Vancouver Titans are here for the next season.

The organization would reveal themselves on their Twitter on the first of December and would host a Twitch stream as a reveal party. Also, Vancouver would introduce their brand-new roster to the world. Many people were speculating on who the Vancouver Titans would be picking up. However, it looks like the rumors that they would acquire a full-Korean roster were true. Let us meet the newest Overwatch League team!

Vancouver Titans acquire Runaway!

As some roster leaks had foretold, Vancouver Titans are signing the entire roster of Korean Contender team, Runaway. However, the management will be different as Runaway founder, Dae-hoon “Runner” Yoon will be staying in Korea alongside team manager, Lee “Flowervin” Hyun-Ah. Instead, former Fusion University coach, Ji-Sub “paJion” Hwang, will be leading the pack for the 2019 year. Harsha “Harsha” Bandi, a former analyst for the San Francisco Shock, will be taking the same role for the Vancouver Titans.

Without further ado, the roster consists of Hyo-jong “Haksal” Kim, Dong-eun “Hooreg” Lee, Min-soo “SeoMinSoo” Seo and Chung-hee “Stitch” Lee at DPS. At their tank positions, they will have Hyeon-Woo “JJANU” Choi and Sang-beom “Bumper” Park. Finally, at the support positions, they will have Sung-jun “SLIME” Kim and Joo-seok “Twilight” Lee. Additionally, the team will also have former Element Mystic support Jung-geun “Rapel” Kim as well.

It has been a Cinderella story for this Runaway roster, as they have truly made the climb to the top. Their story has garnered them many fans across the world, from Korea to North America. However, what are their chances of success this coming season in the Overwatch League?

A Fight For The Top

Many people think that the Vancouver Titans are going to be the best expansion team heading into the second season of the Overwatch League. Reason being, they are the exact same roster that won the second season of the Korean Contenders. They were underdogs for so much of the season and were constantly suffering disappointment and disappointment. Their last season in South Korea would be their best and would earn themselves a spot at the grandest stage of them all.

However, their story is not complete just yet. The Vancouver Titans have the talent and synergy to take on some of the best teams in the league. They must stay hungrier than ever, and cannot fall into complacency. Just because you’ve made it to the Overwatch League, doesn’t mean you can relax. You are now facing off against the best players in the world, and so you will have to play the best you’ve ever played in your life.

If this roster can continue to strive for greatness, you will probably see them fighting for a playoff spot next season. The only problem that they could run into is the absence of Flowervin and Runner. Many of Runaway’s fans know that the husband and wife were a huge catalyst for the team’s success. Will they be able to adapt without their founder and manager? We will need to wait and see.
